Anyone that knows me understands this.
I have a full time 50+ hours a week job as a Systems Administrator as well as a family with an (almost) 1-year-old. While I produce some premium content in the form of courses I try to offer the majority of my content 100% free to everyone.
As you may guess this can be difficult from a timing perspective as well as a financial perspective. By becoming a Patron of “The SysAdmin School” your commitment will allow me to keep my equipment up to date so that I can create more and more quality content for everyone. More importantly by becoming a Patron, you are letting me know that the time I spend creating this content is appreciated and that feedback is so important to me.
To give you an idea, each podcast takes a minimum of 4 hours to create a 30-minute episode, including recording, editing, posting and creating the blog entry to go with it. I certainly have spent more time than that on some posts. My 100% Free Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2019 course took over 3 months to create. In less than three months it has over 1600 students enrolled.

Patron Commitment Goals
Consistent Posts
Reaching a commitment of $50 a month will allow me to develop a consistent posting schedule of articles, podcasts, and videos. This will show me the support you have for me to continue producing quality content for you.
New Recording Equipment
While I have good video editing software my video recording equipment is a little old. It can do 1080P but with commitments of $200 a month, I will be able to purchase new video recording equipment to produce 4K videos. All patrons in Tier 2 and above will have access to download these videos.
Upgraded Lab Equipment
Once I reach commitments of $500 a month I will upgrade my lab network environment. Upgrading this environment will allow me to include IoT (Internet of Things) devices in my posts. This upgrade will be 100% recorded for Patrons only.
